How to publish an EPUB to Apple Books — the delivery service behind our own catalogue
Short answer: To get an EPUB onto Apple Books you need an Apple Books Partner account, Transporter credentials, metadata in Apple's package format and asset validation that passes first time. Apple Books is one of the places readers actually are — and one of the more involved stores to deliver into. Between the finished EPUB and the live listing sits Apple's own delivery machinery: transporter credentials, metadata in Apple's shapes, asset validation, and a pipeline that must not lose your book halfway through.
We had to build that pipeline for ourselves. Thousands of our own editions have gone through it into Apple Books over the years, and the machinery hardened the way tools do when the builder is also the heaviest user: delivery jobs that are owned end to end, credentials kept isolated per publisher, uploads that either complete or say plainly why not.
Apple Books Distribution is that pipeline, offered as a service. The shape is simple:
- You bring a finished EPUB — yours, with your rights. (If the book is not finished yet, Junifye is where it gets written and typeset in the first place.)
- We deliver it through the same machinery our own catalogue rides, into your own Apple Books presence.
- The plans and current terms live on the store — deliberately not restated here, so this post can never contradict them.
The honest positioning: this is not an aggregator that stands between you and your readers forever. It is delivery infrastructure — the unglamorous part between "the book is done" and "the book is on the shelf" — run by a publisher that needed it to exist and keeps it working because our own books depend on it every week.

Can I publish to Apple Books without a Mac?
Apple's own upload tooling assumes macOS. A delivery service removes that requirement: you hand over the EPUB and metadata, the service runs the Transporter step.
Why does Apple reject EPUBs?
Most rejections are validation failures — EPUB structure, cover dimensions, missing or mismatched metadata, fonts without embedding rights. The pipeline validates before delivery and reports the exact reason instead of failing silently.
Is this an aggregator like Draft2Digital or PublishDrive?
No. It is delivery infrastructure into your own Apple Books presence; it does not sit between you and your readers or your royalties permanently.
